Why are professional certifications important?
In the State of Georgia there are no professional licensing requirements for home inspectors. The state’s Uniform Commercial Code only establishes that payment for an inspection requires the inspector to provide the client a written report. Certifications from professional organizations establish that an inspector has demonstrated an industry standard level of knowledge for a specific subject matter.
Why is membership in a professional organization important?
The answer to this question depends on the organization. We are proud members of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors. This organization is dedicated to promoting the professionalism of the industry. Members are required to adhere to the InterNACHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics; to successfully complete multiple specific subject matter certifications, to complete annual continuing education requirements, and to pass the InterNACHI Inspector Exam every 3 years.
